Mount Ararat (5,137 m) is the highest mountain in Türkiye and one of the most spectacular ski touring destinations in the region. This 5-day Mount Ararat Ski Expedition is designed for experienced ski mountaineers who want to combine high-altitude climbing with an unforgettable ski descent.
The expedition includes full logistical support, professional mountain guides, porters, and organized camps. Horses transport the main equipment while participants carry their personal gear. The highlight of the expedition is reaching the summit of Mount Ararat and skiing down the wide volcanic slopes with breathtaking views over Türkiye, Iran, and Armenia.
Our team will pick you up from Van or Ağrı Airport and transfer you to Doğubayazıt. After checking into the hotel, you will meet your guide and prepare your equipment for the expedition.
Overnight stay in a hotel in Doğubayazıt.
After breakfast we drive to Mount Ararat / Çevirme Village at 2,200 meters by minibus. Horses carry our luggage and ski equipment.
From here we start trekking to Camp 1 at 2,800 meters. The hike takes approximately 2–3 hours. When we arrive, tea and food will be ready for us.
Overnight stay in Camp 1.
Night temperatures may reach -10°C.
Today we ski towards Camp 2 at 3,750 meters while carrying our personal equipment.
If porters cannot reach the camp due to weather or terrain conditions, we may establish camp around 3,600 meters. Once the camp is set up, there will be time for additional skiing and acclimatization.
Overnight stay in Camp 2.
Night temperatures may reach -15°C.
Summit day begins very early in the morning. Before leaving the camp, we prepare our duffle bags inside the tents. These bags will be transported down to Camp 1.
After a very early breakfast we start the ascent. The climb to the summit takes approximately 6–8 hours depending on conditions.
Reaching the summit of Mount Ararat at 5,137 meters offers breathtaking panoramic views across Türkiye, Iran, and Armenia.
After enjoying the summit we begin the ski descent and continue down to the vehicle point. From there we transfer back to Doğubayazıt.

Summit temperatures may reach -30°C.
After breakfast we transfer you back to Van or Ağrı Airport for your departure.
