This 14-day Mount Damavand and Mount Ararat expedition is a unique program that combines climbing the two highest volcanoes of the Middle East.

Mount Damavand (5,671 m) is the highest mountain in Iran and the highest volcano in Asia. Mount Ararat (5,137 m) is the highest mountain in Türkiye and one of the most famous trekking peaks in the region.

This expedition offers climbers the opportunity to summit both mountains while also experiencing the rich culture and history of Iran and Eastern Türkiye. With professional mountain guides, organized camps, porter support, and full logistical assistance, this program provides a safe and unforgettable high-altitude adventure.

Day 1 – Arrival in Tehran

Arrival at Tehran International Airport where our team will meet you and transfer you to the hotel.

You will have time to rest after the flight and meet your guide for expedition briefing.

Day 2 – Transfer to Damavand Base Camp (3,200 m)

After breakfast we transfer to Mount Damavand Base Camp at 3,200 meters.

Accommodation will be in a mountain hut or tent.

Day 3 – Trek to Camp 2 (4,200 m)

After breakfast we begin trekking to Camp 2 at 4,200 meters.

The climb helps the group acclimatize before the summit attempt.

Overnight: Camp 2 (4,200 m)

 

Day 4 – Acclimatization Day (4,800 m)

Today we climb higher for acclimatization to approximately 4,800 meters, then return to Camp 2 at 4,200 meters.

This day helps the body adapt to altitude before summit day.

Day 5 – Mount Damavand Summit (5,671 m)

Early in the morning we begin the summit attempt.

The ascent to the summit of Mount Damavand (5,671 m) takes approximately 8–9 hours.

After enjoying the summit we descend back to Camp 2.

Day 6 – Descent & Return to Tehran

After breakfast we descend from 4,200 meters to Base Camp (3,200 m).

From there we transfer back to Tehran.

Day 7 – Cultural Tour in Tehran

Today we explore the cultural highlights of Tehran including:

  • Tehran Grand Bazaar

  • Golestan Palace

  • Milad Tower

  • Darband area in the Tochal Mountains

In the evening we travel by bus toward the Turkey border.

 

Day 8 – Arrival in Türkiye

Cross the border into Türkiye and transfer to the hotel.

This day is for rest and preparation for the Mount Ararat expedition.

Overnight: Hotel in Doğubayazıt

 

Day 9 – Trek to Mount Ararat Camp 1 (3,200 m)

After breakfast we transfer to the starting point at 2,200 meters.

From here we trek to Camp 1 at 3,200 meters.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Overnight: Camp 1 (3,200 m)

 

Day 10 – Trek to Camp 2 (4,200 m)

We continue trekking to Camp 2 at 4,200 meters.

This stage helps climbers acclimatize before the summit attempt.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Overnight: Camp 2 (4,200 m)

 

Day 11 – Mount Ararat Summit (5,137 m)

Early in the morning we begin the summit attempt.

From the summit of Mount Ararat (5,137 m) climbers enjoy spectacular views across Türkiye, Iran, and Armenia.

After reaching the summit we descend back to Camp 1.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 12 – Descent & Return to Doğubayazıt

After breakfast we descend to the vehicle point at 2,200 meters and transfer to Doğubayazıt.

Overnight: Hotel in Doğubayazıt

 

Day 13 – Cultural Tour in Doğubayazıt

Today we visit some of the most famous historical sites in the region:

  • Ishak Pasha Palace

  • Noah’s Ark site

  • Meteor Crater near the Iranian border

In the evening we enjoy a traditional Turkish bath (Hamam).

 

Day 14 – Departure

After breakfast we transfer you to the airport for your departure flight.
