This 8-day Mount Suphan and Mount Ararat expedition offers climbers the opportunity to summit two of the most impressive mountains in Eastern Türkiye.

Mount Suphan (4,058 m), located near Lake Van, is one of the highest volcanoes in Türkiye and provides a spectacular trekking route with stunning views over the lake. After summiting Mount Suphan, the expedition continues to the legendary Mount Ararat (5,137 m) — the highest mountain in Türkiye and one of the most famous trekking peaks in the region.

Along the way participants will also visit important cultural and historical sites such as Akdamar Island, Muradiye Waterfall, and Ishak Pasha Palace. With professional mountain guides, organized camps, horse support, and full logistical assistance, this expedition combines high-altitude adventure with cultural exploration.

Day 1 – Arrival in Van

Arrival at Van Airport where our team will meet you.

After arrival we visit Akdamar Island and the historic Akdamar Church on Lake Van. After the tour we transfer to Adilcevaz.

Day 2 – Mount Suphan Summit (4,058 m)

After an early breakfast we begin the ascent of Mount Suphan (4,058 m).

The climb takes approximately 9–10 hours round trip. From the summit climbers enjoy spectacular views over Lake Van and the surrounding volcanic landscape.

After the climb we return to Adilcevaz.

Day 3 – Transfer to Doğubayazıt

After breakfast we drive from Adilcevaz to Doğubayazıt via Van and Erciş.

On the way we stop to visit Muradiye Waterfall.

After arriving in Doğubayazıt we check into the hotel and visit Ishak Pasha Palace.

Day 4 – Trek to Mount Ararat Camp 1 (3,200 m)

After breakfast we transfer to Eli or Çevirme Village at 2,200 meters, the starting point of the Mount Ararat trek.

From here we hike to Camp 1 at 3,200 meters. Horses carry the camping equipment and luggage.

The hike takes approximately 4–5 hours.

Day 5 – Trek to Camp 2 (4,200 m)

After breakfast we continue trekking to Camp 2 at 4,200 meters.

The hike takes approximately 3–4 hours. After arriving at the camp we prepare for summit day.

Day 6 – Mount Ararat Summit (5,137 m)

Early in the morning we begin the summit attempt.

The climb to the summit of Mount Ararat (5,137 m) takes approximately 8–9 hours.

After enjoying the summit we descend back to Camp 2, pack our equipment, and continue down to Camp 1.

Day 7 – Descent & Return to Doğubayazıt

After breakfast we descend from Camp 1 to the vehicle point at 2,200 meters.

From there we transfer back to Doğubayazıt. In the afternoon we can explore the city and surrounding historical sites.

Day 8 – Transfer to Van Airport

After breakfast we transfer you from Doğubayazıt to Van Airport for your departure flight.
